If so, our Highway division is hiring a Skidsteer Operator for the 2023 construction season.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Bobcat Skid Steer to move materials around the job site including to scrape the ground to gather excess asphalt and dump asphalt in designated areas.
  • Perform regular equipment maintenance and inspections.
  • Assist with labour tasks as needed while the Skid Steer is not required.
  • Use Bobcat to create dig outs as needed.
  • Perform any site preparation and leveling with the Bobcat prior to paving.
  • Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company\'s Code of Ethics.
  • Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
  • Other operating and labour related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
  • Class 5 Drivers License preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years road construction experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience operating a skidsteer
Working Conditions
  • Schedule of 24 working days, with 4 days off and up to 14 hours per day (weather dependent). Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable employment standards legislation.
  • Out of town travel throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories is required and may consist of remote locations, accommodations and Live Out Allowance (LOA) is applicable in most situations.
  • Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
  • Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
  • Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.
  • Must comply with the company\'s drug and alcohol testing requirements.
