Our central division is is currently looking for a Rakerperson for the upcoming 2023 Construction Season. This division travels throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories.
The rakerperson redistributes the asphalt mix as it leaves the screed and prepares it for rolling. While acting as a member of the paper crew, the raker is responsible for raking asphalt, shoveling excess asphalt and sweeping up debris and other various labour related duties.

Key Responsibilities



  • Ensure pavement is level by using rake to fix any imperfections
  • Monitor the consistency of the asphalt
  • Assist crew members in any other duties as required
  • All other duties as required



Qualifications



  • Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent.
  • High school graduate or G.E.D preferred
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the road construction industry
  • Knowledge of road construction, specifically paving work
  • Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies
  • Ability to communicate with multiple team members
  • Perform decision making tasks when needed
  • Safety sensitive positions are required to complete a pre-employment Drug, Alcohol and Fitness testing.


Working Conditions


  • Out of town travel throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories is required and may consist of remote locations, accommodations and Live Out Allowance may be applicable.
  • Schedule of Monday - Saturday up to 16 hours per day (weather dependent). Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable employment standards legislation.
  • Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
  • Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
  • Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.
  • Must comply with the company\'s drug and alcohol testing requirements.
