Summary

Are you an organized, professional and energetic self starter, with an interest in pursuing a career in project management? We are now hiring an entry-level, year round, position of Project Coordinator based out of our Cold Lake, Alberta regional office!

The Project Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of all site activities and is deemed as the site designate. The project coordinator is responsible for communications and requests from the owner and/or consultant, subcontractors, Project Managers and Superintendents.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for organizing trucking requirements for jobs.
• Maintain up to date utility locates to ensure site is ready for company personnel, ensuring that subcontractors have their own.
• Act as a company representative at all site meetings and as a point of contact for field level questions regarding upcoming and current project(s).
• Responsible for collection and confirmation of field quantities for month end progress submissions.
• Collect and record valuable information regarding the execution of a project and issues during construction.
• Project estimating responsibilities as required, including maintaining tendered and negotiated changes.
• Ordering construction material, requesting and receiving purchase orders(POs) as required.
• Maintain an accurate project budget with regard to change orders.
• Maintain up to date short-term work schedules of the active projects.
• Use company software, including Heavy Bid, Heavy Job and JDE.
• Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company\'s Code of Ethics.
• Other duties related to the Project Coordinator role.

Qualifications | Requirements

• Class 5 Drivers License is required.
• Completion of High School Diploma or GED
• A Technical Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from a recognized post-secondary institution, or equivalent is an asset.
• Previous experience in civil construction, preferably in operations or Quality Control (QC) would be an asset.
• Reading and understanding of construction drawings and specifications is required.
• Strong management, delegation, planning, and leadership skills.
• High level of time management, independent judgement and reasoning

Working Conditions

• Schedule of Monday - Friday, occasional weekends as required. Overtime will be paid in accordance with applicable Employment Standards legislation
• Travel, including overnight, may be required.
• Work will be performed in indoor and outdoor settings, which could a combination of standing, sitting and walking for extended periods of time, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and exposure to dust, grease, fumes, odors, oil, asphalt and toxic and flammable substances.
• Must be physically able to repetitively life and carry at least 25lbs on a regular basis.
• Use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required, use of sunscreen and long sleeves is recommended.
• Must comply with the company\'s drug and alcohol policy, including testing requirements.
• Must comply with all company policies.
• Must be able to work while respecting safety policies and procedures.
