Summary

Our East Division (Cold Lake, AB) is now hiring for a Finish Roller Operator for the construction season. The Finish Roller Operator is responsible for finishing and cooling the asphalt surface.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the rollers and other heavy equipment in a safe manner.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
• Determine the speed and direction of the machines so that ridges do not form from excessive pressure.
• Use hand roller or portable power roller to pound surfaces not accessible to road roller.
• Operator self-propelled steel-wheeled or other types of rollers.
• Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the Roller.
• Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company\'s Code of Ethics.
• Other quality control related duties as required.

Qualifications | Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
• Class 5 Driver\'s License.
• Minimum of 2 years\' experience within the road construction industry.
• 2 - 3 years experience operating a Roller, Finish Roller experience preferred.

Working Conditions

• Schedule of 6 working days, 1 day off, up to 12 hours per day, weather dependent.
• Work is preformed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
• Out of town travel may be required. Accommodations and Live Out Allowance (LOA) is applicable in most situations.
• Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
• Use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required.
• Use of Sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.
• Must comply with the company\'s drug and alcohol testing requirements.
