Reporting to the Shipping Manager, Strassburger Windows and Doors is looking for an experienced DZ Delivery Driver to join our growing and dynamic team. This is a full-time position, which includes competitive pay, benefits, a business cell phone, and gas card.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

Performing routine inspection (i.e., circle check/ pre-trip inspection) of items such as brakes, tires, lights, horns, and accessories on the delivery vehicle before leaving the plant

Reporting any vehicle malfunctions to the supervisor

Making sure the vehicle is filled with appropriate fuel

Ensuring that the delivery vehicle is loaded in a manner that maximizes the use of available space while making certain that the load is evenly distributed and secure

Driving vehicle to destination (either alone or as a member of a two-person crew) in a manner that adheres to safety regulations and road rules applicable to urban, interurban, provincial transportation driving

Assessing delivery site for best place to safely off load product

Helping unload the vehicle, and ensuring the product is carried to one central location on the ground level and delivered safely

Maintaining the vehicle logbook by recording items such as distanced traveled, fuel consumption and other information

Packing, or assisting in packing, goods in special containers prior to moving them to shipping

Ensuring the correct paperwork is signed by the client

Collecting any COD monies outstanding for delivery and delivering these payments to the office upon return to the factory

Assisting in the warehouse with duties such as loading trucks

Other duties as assigned

The successful individual must have...

A valid Class DZ driver's licence

Clean driving abstract

Three years of truck driving experience preferred

Good communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally with homeowners, contractors and dealers

Must be flexible, dependable, reliable, accurate and organized

Heavy lifting is required
