Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Dump Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting materials to and from job sites, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the dump truck and tandem pup. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation and a commitment to maintaining safety standards while on the road. Our yard is based in Shawnigan lake with majority of work being in Victoria.

Duties

Operate dump trucks to transport materials such as gravel, sand, and dirt to designated locations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, materials transported, and any incidents that occur during transport. Collaborate with site managers and other team members to coordinate loading and unloading of materials. Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving on public roads and job sites. Perform basic automotive repairs as needed to keep the truck in optimal condition. Assist with heavy equipment operation when required, including operating forklifts for loading/unloading tasks.

Qualifications

Valid Class 1 License Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with dump trucks or similar heavy vehicles with trailer. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is preferred. Basic knowledge of automotive repair is a plus. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices. Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
