Trail Building Supplies is hiring a motivated individual for a DUAL-ROLE position as a
Construction Framer who can also deliver the prefab walls.
In this role you will safely assist with the loading, transport and delivery of wall panels, lumber and other products to residential construction sites, ensuring accuracy, care and strong customer service. When not scheduled for deliveries, you will work indoors in a controlled shop environment, framing wall panels for residential construction using building plans and production standards and methods. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their workday and is looking to build a skill set in both transportation and construction. Delivery vehicle will either be a 1 tonne goose neck with a 32' trailer or, single axle 3 tonne. Must have clean drivers abstract. Class 1 not required.
Preference will be given to those with residential construction experience

THE HUSTLE ENVIRONMENT
Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week.
Occasional non-standard work hours or overtime as business requires
Indoor/Climate Controlled Shop facility
Outdoor work in all elements and conditions
Can be busy, high volume
Based in Edmonton out of Trail Building Supplies Office
Extended periods of standing/walking
May include occasional on-site framing, out doors
Delivery truck transportation in all weather conditions

THESE ARE YOUR STRENGTHS
Delivery & Transport
Assist with loading/unloading wall panels, lumber and other products onto trucks using forklift, straps and proper load securement
Safely transport and unload materials at residential and commercial job sites
Completely delivery paperwork and communicate professionally with site supervisors, customers and builders
Conduct pre/post trip inspections and report any maintenance issues
Maintain a clean and organized delivery truck and work areas
Wall Panel Framing
Assemble wall panels with precision and efficiency.
Read/understand cutsheets
Choosing appropriate wood materials
Use hand/power tools
Knowledge of wood species
Execute precise measurements and cuts for lumber, and other framing materials
Work in a team-driven work environment
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Ability to recognize defects in wood material e.g.: bow, wane, split, twist, cup etc.
Promote a culture of safety
Other responsibilities as assigned
SUCCESS FACTORS
High school diploma
Valid Class 3 or 5 with clean drivers abstract
Valid forklift ticket and experience required
Ability to lift, carry and move building materials safely
Transport delivery experience is preferred
Experience loading/unloading heavy and complex loads
Construction knowledge, assembly experience and/or framing experience will be preferred
Reliable, punctual and able to work well in a team environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing job priorities
Ability to lift and work with materials
Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
PPE required: steel toe boots
Physically fit and ability to perform strenuous tasks
