The DSU Orientation and Events Commissioner is responsible for coordinating O-Week outreach, planning, volunteer training, and working as part of a team to lead some of the DSU\'s most successful and inclusive events. Duties
Work alongside the DSU Vice President Student Life in the coordination and execution of various O-Week programming and training
Manage the O-Week commissioner email accounts
Review leader applications and assign houses
Planning and co-facilitating O-Week alongside the VPSL
Plan O-Week Leader training
Plan and coordinate informative O-Week events such as Dal 101, the Sex Talk, Campus tours, etc.
Work with the VPSL to chair DSU O-Week Sub-Committee meetings regarding leader training, harm reduction and any others assigned by the VPSL
Alongside the VPSL sit in the Dalhousie University Risk Management O-Week Sub-Committee
Work projects such as Orientation Week, DalFest, Pride Week, Frost Week, the Annual General Meeting, and Elections. Duties include event conceptualizing and research, contributing to inter-university working groups, and assisting full-time staff members and elected officials of the DSU to organize and actualize events
Any other duties assigned by the VPSL and/or Director, Research and Outreach.
Qualifications:
Must be a current Dalhousie University student
Supervisor and leadership experience is an asset
Past participation in DSU O-Week Committee is an asset
Must be available to work 15- 20 hours per week from May \xe2\x80\x93 September 2023
Must be available for the entirety of August and September 2022
Pay Rate: $14.50/per hour Deadline to Apply: April 3, 2023
