Job Summary


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities and seniors in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, with experience in areas such as dementia care, hospice care, and caregiving. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized support and assistance.

Responsibilities



Provide direct personal care to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status. Assist clients with mobility and heavy lifting as needed to ensure their safety and comfort. Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties. Develop trusting relationships with clients while promoting their independence and dignity. Document client progress and report any concerns or changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.

Requirements



Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or senior care settings is preferred. Knowledge of patient care practices, including medication administration and meal preparation. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or dementia is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required by client needs. A compassionate attitude towards caregiving and a commitment to enhancing the lives of those you serve. Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus but not mandatory at the time of hiring. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
