Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Taper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drywall installation and finishing, with expertise in applying tape and joint compound to create smooth, seamless surfaces. This role requires attention to detail, a solid understanding of construction processes, and the ability to read blueprints. The Taper will work closely with other tradespeople to ensure high-quality finishes on various projects.

Responsibilities

Apply tape and joint compound to drywall seams and corners to achieve a smooth finish. Prepare surfaces by sanding and cleaning as necessary before applying finishing materials. Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications to ensure accurate installation. Collaborate with carpenters and other construction professionals to coordinate work schedules and project timelines. Perform caulking around windows, doors, and other openings as needed. Conduct quality checks on finished work to ensure compliance with standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Assist in construction painting tasks when required.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Taper or in a similar role within the construction industry. Strong skills in drywall installation, finishing, caulking, and painting. Ability to read blueprints and understand project specifications effectively. Experience as a maintenance person or in related trades is a plus. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks associated with the job.
