Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Taper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying tape and finishing compounds to drywall joints, ensuring a smooth and professional finish. The Taper will work closely with other construction professionals to deliver high-quality results on various projects. A strong understanding of blueprint reading and experience in construction painting, drywall installation, and general maintenance person tasks are essential for success in this role.

Duties

• Apply tape to joints between drywall sheets to prepare for finishing.
• Use hand tools and power tools to apply joint compound smoothly and evenly.
• Sand and finish surfaces to achieve a polished look.
• Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications.
• Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to ensure project timelines are met.
• Perform caulking as required to seal gaps and improve aesthetics.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the project duration.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations on job sites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Taper or in a similar role within the construction industry.
• Strong skills in blueprint reading and understanding construction drawings.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment related to drywall finishing.
• Experience with construction painting techniques is preferred.
• Knowledge of caulking methods and materials is a plus.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication skills.
• Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
• Physical stamina and strength to perform manual tasks associated with the role.
