Job Overview


We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Taper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying finishing coats to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces, ensuring smooth and professional results. This role requires a strong understanding of construction painting techniques, blueprint reading, and general carpentry skills. The Taper will work closely with project managers and other trades to deliver high-quality workmanship on various construction sites. Prior maintenance person experience and knowledge of caulking are highly valued to support seamless surface preparation and finishing.

Duties



Apply joint compound or plaster to walls and ceilings using trowels, knives, or spray equipment Sand and smooth surfaces to prepare for painting or finishing coats Read blueprints and technical drawings to determine specifications and measurements Perform caulking around windows, doors, and seams to ensure airtight finishes Assist with carpentry tasks as needed, including minor repairs or adjustments Maintain cleanliness of work area and ensure safety protocols are followed at all times Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards Support other maintenance person tasks as required to facilitate efficient project completion

Skills



Proven experience in construction painting and finishing techniques Strong knowledge of construction processes, including blueprint reading and surface preparation Carpentry skills and maintenance person experience are highly desirable Ability to read technical drawings accurately Proficiency in caulking, sanding, and surface smoothing methods Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team Physical stamina to perform manual tasks in various environmental conditions

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.85-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
