Driving Instructor - NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY / TRAINING PROVIDED

Young Drivers of Canada is looking to hire Driving Instructors. If you are the type of person who loves to help others by teaching new skills and watching others succeed, this job is for you.

POSITION

Driving Instructors must love driving and have the ability to communicate effectively. Teaching or previous coaching experience is an asset.

The Instructor Training Course provides all the knowledge and resources to ensure that new Instructors are in the best position to succeed.

This position starts with teaching practical on-road driving lessons.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a resident of Nova Scotia and hold a current Driver's Licence. Ideally, you own a vehicle five years old or less. If the vehicle is older but in good condition both inside and out, YD will examine it to determine if it's acceptable. Minimum of 5 years of driving experience with a clean driving record. No criminal record. Instructor's license is acquired through the Young Drivers Instructor Training Course. Training Course is 4 Weeks in duration from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm EST. There is no cost to the applicants that are selected.

REQUIREMENTS

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently. Ability to follow the Young Drivers curriculum. Friendly, positive and outgoing. The ability to be comfortable with students. Soft skills required to succeed in this position include empathy, understanding, compassion, patience, etc.

SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS

Mandatory participation in the instructor training course. Monday-Friday for 4 weeks from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm EST. Typically, YD Instructors work 5 days per week. Required Tuesday through Saturday (Available from 10am to 8pm) Since many of our clients are High School students, our Driving Instructors need to be available to work afternoons & evenings on weekdays and one weekend day.

INSTRUCTOR'S COMPENSATION

Competitive pay rates hourly ($21.50 to $25.00) Advancement into a Classroom/Virtual Teacher role, Instructor Training Course Trainer, YD Fleet Trainer. Flexible schedule. Great support team. Paid vacation. Use of a tablet for work purposes.
Instructors are paid based on lessons delivered. In addition, there is the possibility of greater earnings if the Instructor is willing to pick up extra lessons when needed.
