Safety NL is a leader in providing safety services and advocacy for over 70 years. We are a government-approved, province-wide provider of driver education programs, including our popular Learn to Drive program. We offer the only nationally certified motorcycle training in NL, off-road vehicle safety training, and occupational health and safety training.
We are seeking part-time and full-time driving instructors for locations throughout the province. New instructors receive 35 hours of in-class and in-car training from our experienced and professional instructors. We are fully insured as a driving school and our cars are regularly serviced and equipped with dash cams and passenger side brakes for emergency stops.
Provide in-class and/or in-car driver education training to students enrolled in driving programs.
Qualifications:
Class 5 driver's license
Minimum 5 years driving experience
Current code of conduct and vulnerable sector check
Clean driver's abstract (no at-fault accidents within a 7-year period)
The Successful Candidate Will:
Complete our training program (approximately 5-6 weeks in length, including training for in-car and in-class instruction). Some instructors may opt to provide in-class or in-car instruction only
Pass a provincial written and driving test for instructors
Have a flexible working schedule based on demand: weekday, weekend, and evening hours
Demonstrate ability to evaluate and record the performance of students and clients
Demonstrate a positive attitude and provide instruction and in-car interventions in a safe and controlled manner
Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with people between the ages of 16 and 75

Metro Region (covers Mount Pearl, St. John's, Paradise, Torbay and Portugal Cove-St. Philip's)
Central Region (covers Gander, Lewisporte, Grand Falls)
Western Region (covers Deer Lake, Corner Brook, Stephenville and Port au Basques)
Northern Region (covers the Northern Peninsula)
Labrador West (covers Labrador City and Wabush)
There may be opportunities to teach additional courses as well, such as the Defensive Driving, Responsible Driving, Point Reduction Course, and Think First (Alcohol and Drug Education Program)
