Are you a mature and flexible individual looking to make a positive impact on the lives of new drivers? Our driving school is seeking a dedicated part-time Driving Instructor to join our team. We pride ourselves in fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for new drivers and individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. As a part-time driving instructor, you will be responsible for providing both in-car and/or classroom instructions to new drivers. Your role will involve working closely with students from various cultural backgrounds, ensuring that they receive comprehensive and respectful driver education. The position requires flexibility as you will need to be available after school, evening and weekends to accommodate students' schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high quality driving instruction in a supportive and patient manner.

Conduct classroom sessions to cover theoretical aspects of driving including traffic laws, safety regulations and defensive driving techniques.

Communicate effectively with students and parents, providing clear feedback and progress reports

Ensure all lessons adhere to provincial regulations and guidelines for driver education.

Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a driving instructor or in a related educational role is preferred but not necessary.

Strong organizational skills to manage lesson plans and student schedules efficiently.

Excellent communication skills to convey instructions clearly and effectively.

The candidate we are looking for will possess a clean criminal record and drivers' abstract. A valid Nova Scotia Driving Instructor License is required or willingness to obtain one. A minimum Class 5 Non-GDL license.
