Driving Instructor (Class 1 & 3)



Position Summary



CCA Truck Driver Training is hiring individuals who want to become Licensed Driving Instructors. The Driving Instructor provides in-cab and classroom instruction to students seeking a commercial license or endorsement. We are looking to fill both full-time and part-time positions, and these positions require some work on evenings and weekends.

Position Description



This is a full time,

employee

position. CCA pays a competitive hourly rate, vacation pay and a Health Spending Account. We are looking for candidates who have a desire to pass their valuable knowledge and experience on to new drivers.

Duties and Responsibilities



Providing in-cab Class 1 MELT and 3 Instruction on manual and automatic transmissions. Conducting Company Evaluations, Brush-up lessons and LCV certifications. Teaching classroom courses such as Alberta Air Brakes and PDIC (Professional Driver Improvement Course).

Qualifications



5 Years of verifiable Class 1 Driving Experience (references required). Honest, professional and punctual. Able to pass a Criminal Record Check. Clean Driver's Abstract preferred. No more than 6 demerits in last 36 months. Very patient, strong communications skills and a positive attitude. Desire and willingness to share experience with new drivers. Willingness to teach both classroom and practical courses as required.

Compensation



This position is paid hourly: $32/hr for a non-probationary, certified instructor, $30/hr for probationary period, and $25/hr for instructor training time. Additional training for advanced instructor certifications (LCV, PDIC and Air Brakes) will be paid time.

Hours of Work



Full-Time: 40hrs/week, 8-10 hours per day. You may be scheduled as required for any of the following shifts:

Weekday Shifts starting as early as 7am. Weekday Shifts ending no later than 9pm. Weekend Day Shifts from 7am-5pm. Scheduled breaks on shift.
Part-Time:

Weekends and Evenings as needed. Weekdays with a minimum 4-hour "call-in" per day. Scheduled breaks on shift.

Working Conditions



Work conditions and hazards similar to a typical commercial truck transport job. Outdoor work environment with exposure to inclement weather year-round. Requires intermittent lifting of objects up to 40lbs.
