As a Driver/Operator/Labourer 1 in the Mobility Labour Pool, you can expect to be assigned on shifts that cover 24 hours per day/7 days per week. This position includes labouring, driving and equipment operating tasks that are assigned daily based on operational needs. The work is physically demanding and requires the incumbent(s) to work in all types of weather conditions on various types of vehicles and machinery to complete the work assigned. Primary duties include:Perform general labour function at job sites including shoveling, raking, fencing, loading and unloading of materials.
Drive to and from job sites.
Operation of various pieces of equipment (tandem, loaders, sweepers, bobcats, sanders and graders).
Perform routine vehicle inspections and keep a daily driving log.
Actively participate in all training offered by Mobility Business Unit based on operational requirements.
Perform assigned work by the Foreman, Supervisor or District Manager.
