Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Driver / Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting containers safely and efficiently while managing your own vehicle. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to handle various types of freight. This position requires a proactive approach to vehicle maintenance and a customer-focused mindset.

Duties

Operate and maintain your own commercial vehicle for the transportation of goods. Ensure timely delivery of freight while adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws. Perform routine inspections and basic automotive repairs on your vehicle to ensure optimal performance. Load and unload freight, utilizing forklift equipment as necessary. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance. Collaborate with team members to optimize routes and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record. Experience in commercial driving is required; experience with heavy equipment operation is a plus. Strong knowledge of automotive repair principles and practices. Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely. Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines consistently. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Must be able to pass background checks as required by company policies.
