Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Driver/Maintenance Person to join our team. The Driver/Maintenance person is responsible for a wide range of duties under the supervision of the Quality Assurance Coordinator (QAC). This position involves working within residential environments that support individuals with developmental disabilities. The successful candidate will engage directly with people supported for approximately 80% of the workday, both within homes and while operating agency vehicles.

This is a contract position with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Responsibilities

Drive individuals to and from Day Programs, appointments, and other destinations as required. Interact respectfully and supportively with individuals who have physical and developmental disabilities. Oversee interior and exterior maintenance and upkeep at all agency locations, including grounds keeping and cleaning tasks. Perform basic repairs such as patching, painting, tiling, and flooring. Assemble and mount furniture, fixtures, and other items as needed. Ensure timely completion of scheduled household, equipment, and vehicle maintenance. Prepare for seasonal tasks, such as gutter cleaning and yard maintenance. Obtain quotes for repairs, renovations, and purchases. Liaise with maintenance staff, landlords, and contractors. Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and safely operated.

Requirements

Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (preferred). Demonstrated experience in general maintenance or building operations. Valid G driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to lift and perform physical work as required. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $23.43-$24.40 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
