Inventory Clerk



The Supply Chain team is responsible for the sourcing, negotiation, contracting, logistics, risk management and vendor management for all products and services required to support the in-house engineering and manufacturing at Davis' AS9100 certified facility.

We are looking for a highly motivated and focused Driver / Inventory Clerk to join our Supply Chain team, reporting directly to the Logistics and Warehouse Supervisor. This is for a full-time permanent position in our Ottawa facility, working at our facility 5 days per week.

The main responsibilities of the Driver / Inventory Clerk would be: performing pick-ups and deliveries using a light-duty truck in the Ottawa and Montreal areas, loading and unloading trucks using a forklift, kitting of parts, accurate recording of inventory transactions using an ERP database system, executing inventory cycle counts and providing other various services to production personnel. Other responsibilities could include: packaging finished goods, assisting in the movement of material throughout the facility and receiving material into inventory following material deliveries.

The ideal candidate would possess strong organizational skills and be very comfortable using various computer programs simultaneously. Forklift experience and a valid driver's license are both necessary requirements for this position.

What your day-to-day would look like:



Driving:



Safely operate a light-duty truck for local deliveries, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Perform daily circle check inspections on company vehicles. Deliveries and pick-ups in the Ottawa area and occasionally in Montreal. Load and unload goods safely, while preventing damage to product. Responsible for refueling, and monitoring the schedule for oil changes, tire changes and other maintenance.

Inventory:



Kitting based on work order pick list to manufacturing. Accurate recording of all inventory and trace transactions in ERP system. Completion of cycle counts. Maintain limited number of consumables not on re-order point. Receive incoming deliveries and verify the accuracy of contents against the purchase order. Load/Unload materials and merchandise from vehicles and stack them to assigned places. Respond to requests for kits & consumables by manufacturing in a timely fashion. Maintain overall cleanliness of stores for ease of kitting. Assist with the preparation/packaging of outbound orders. Movement of raw materials from Receiving area to stores. Periodic overtime at peak times.

What we are looking for:



Valid G Driver's License with a clean driving record. Proven ability to drive safely in all weather conditions. Knowledge of driving in the city. Forklift experience (2 years). 2 years experience in an inventory and material handling role. Interact effectively and professionally with clients and contractors. Experience using basic inventory control practices. Experience with material handling policies and procedures. Proficiency in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing between 50 to 75 pounds. Ability to work under tight timelines, strong attention to detail. Familiarity with Quality Management Systems an asset. Experience with an ERP System (Visual Enterprise currently in use) an asset. Work well within a team and the flexibility to be moved within the group as needed. Crate building experience an asset (woodworking skills). Ability to obtain and maintain Controlled Goods clearance will be required. Comfortable working outdoors at all times of the year when required. Heavy lifting required at times.
