Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mobility Equipment Technician OR a Handyman to join our team part time at Young's Pharmacy & Homecare.
As a Mobility Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for assembling, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of mobility equipment such as wheelchairs, power scooters, walkers, and other assistive devices. Your expertise will ensure that our customers can enjoy improved mobility and independence. You will also be doing the deliveries and basic installation with our company Van.
Responsibilities:
Equipment Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of mobility equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and structural issues, ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
Equipment Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on mobility equipment, including but not limited to replacing batteries, repairing brakes, adjusting seat heights, and replacing worn-out components.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to ensure optimal performance and functionality in store and in our community.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities performed on mobility equipment, including parts used and time spent on each task. Create repair quotes for customers before work is started.
Customer Service: Interact with customers, providing excellent service by addressing their concerns, explaining repairs, and offering recommendations for equipment usage and care.
Equipment Assembly: Assemble and configure new mobility equipment according to manufacturer instructions and customer specifications.
Parts and Inventory Management: Keep track of inventory levels, order necessary parts and supplies, and maintain a well-organized and stocked workshop.
Compliance and Safety: Stay up to date with industry standards, regulations, and manufacturer guidelines to ensure compliance and adherence to safety protocols.
Qualifications:
Technical Expertise
Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement effective repair solutions.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to inspecting equipment, performing repairs, and maintaining accurate records.
Customer Service Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with customers, understand their needs, and provide professional and friendly service.
Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet repair deadlines and customer expectations.
Technical Documentation: Proficient in documenting repair and maintenance activities, including parts used, time spent, and equipment status.
Safety Consciousness: Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to mobility equipment and a commitment to ensuring user safety.
Class G Driver's license and a good driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience as a mobility equipment technician or in a related field.
Familiarity with different types and models of mobility equipment and their unique features.
Driver and Handyman experience
