Aurevia is a newly launched, licensed provider of non-urgent stretcher transportation across hospitals, long-term care homes, and private residences. Our mission is built on respect and dependability.
We are looking for compassionate, safety-focused Driver/Attendants to join our frontline team. In this role, you'll transport clients with mobility needs--including seniors, post-operative patients, and individuals with disabilities--between healthcare facilities and residences.
We are hiring Driver/Attendants to support our early-stage operations. This position starts as part-time/on-call, with a strong opportunity to transition into full-time as we grow.
This position is ideal for someone who is calm under pressure, attentive to detail, and values professionalism in every interaction. You'll be an essential part of each client's care journey, delivering service that is respectful, responsive, and clinically informed.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Safety
Operate company vehicles responsibly and in accordance with all applicable laws
Follow scheduled routes and maintain accurate timing for pickups and drop-offs
Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; report issues immediately
Keep vehicles clean, stocked, and returned to base at end of shift
Client Assistance & Communication
Assist clients in and out of the vehicle using safe patient handling techniques
Maintain professionalism, empathy, and respect with all clients and family members
Notify supervisor of any concerns about client condition or wellbeing
Infection Prevention & Hygiene
Follow infection control procedures, including PPE use and sanitization protocols
Disinfect equipment and cabin area after each trip
Documentation & Technology Use
Accurately complete trip logs, reports, and handover forms
Use digital tools and tablets and navigation systems as part of daily workflow
Maintain communication with dispatch throughout shift, report delays or emergencies
Equipment Operation & Care
Operate and inspect stretchers, lifts, and related transport equipment
Report missing or damaged gear
Ensure all equipment is in safe working condition
Qualifications
Required:
Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence and a clean abstract
Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
Physical ability to assist with stretcher transfers (lifting up to 250 lbs with assistance)
Strong EQ, verbal communication, and customer service skills
Exceptional punctuality. Every minute matters in healthcare logistics
Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Must tolerate varying weather conditions and extended periods of driving
Preferred Assets:
Class F Licence
Prior experience in patient transport, EMS, healthcare, or long-term care
Training in infection control, mobility support, or patient handling
Multilingualism (especially French or community languages)
Familiarity with Toronto/GTA road networks and use of digital navigation tools/GPS
History of punctuality, dependability, and professional conduct
