DUTIES

Trailblazers Life Choices is looking to fill the position of a Driver, who, under the direction of Transportation Coordinator, will primarily be responsible for transportation of adults living with disabilities.

MAIN DUTIES:

Report delays, mechanical problems and accidents;

Load and unload vehicle;

Direct passengers during emergency evacuation procedures;

Deal with difficult passengers and resolve conflicts;

Deal with public;

Complete logbooks and reports;

Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle;

Communicate with passengers, Transpiration Coordinator or other drivers;

Operate buses or streetcars to transport passengers;

Ensure adult's safety when boarding and leaving buses and crossing street while bus is stopped;

Maintain control of individuals activities during travel to prevent distractions or behaviours that could compromise safety.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Be at least 18 years old.

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Driver's License (Class 4 preferred);

Experience is an asset (School bus driver; Intercity bus driver; Buses 1 year)

Driver's abstract;

Be able to work in a fast-paced environment;

SCHEDULE

The shifts will be split between the following hours:

Mon-Fri: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada

An applicant who is offered an employment, must provide a current (not older than 3 months) and satisfactory Criminal Records Check (with vulnerable sector search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check

Pay: $17.00 per hour
