Position: Driver, Visiting Suites
Position Profile: The Driver is an employee who operates the company vehicle on a scheduled route to transport clients to and from various locations. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a variety of records, such as time at each stop, purpose of trip, number of passengers per day, mileage, and vehicle maintenance. The Driver must be able to exercise good judgment when handling unusual situations arising with passengers.
The Driver receives direction, route assignments, and is supervised by the Visiting Suites Coordinator. Work is reviewed through observation and review of records.
Position Reporting: This position reports to the Visiting Suites Coordinator.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs work in the operation of a vehicle to ensure safe transportation of clients to and from various destinations.
Ensure the safety of clients during transport.
Reports to Visiting Suites Coordinator on care, repair, and maintenance of vehicle(s); washes vehicle(s) and cleans interior.
Assists passengers in getting in and out of vehicles, and other courtesies.
Ensures proper installation of care seats and seatbelt usage.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment.
Creates driving schedule and booking transports.
Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of basic automotive maintenance procedures.
Ability to deal effectively and patiently with others.
Ability to operate a van or small bus.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to lift up to 40-60 lbs.

Experience and Training:
At least 5 years of experience driving a bus or large vehicles.
Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Special Requirements:
Must possess a valid driver's license issued by SGI Motor Vehicles.
Must be 18 years of age or older, with a clean driving record.
Defensive driver training is an asset.
CPR, and First Aid.
Knowledge of Car Seats and safety.
Basic computer knowledge.
