Carefirst Seniors & Community Services Association
is a non-profit charitable community services agency established since 1976. Our spectrum of services has grown from the delivery of Chinese meals-on-wheels service to a full range of community support services, covering the whole Greater Toronto Area.
With a staff of 500 members (including full-time and part-time staff) and the help of a pool of 850 active volunteers, we serve over 15,000 clients a year, including seniors, adults, youth with physical, social, emotional and health challenges. 3,000 of whom are "home-bound" and frail.
We are currently seeking a
Driver
to join our Transportation Team.

Responsibilities:
Provide safe and efficient transportation services to clients for medical/hospital appointments, adult day program, social activities, etc.
Be punctual and dependable in picking up the client at the scheduled time
Provide assistance to clients in and out of agency vehicle/their homes, in a safe manner
Immediately report incidents, accidents or client health concerns to supervisor
Carry out routine maintenance and upkeep of vehicle, including fueling and cleaning
Complete and retain appropriate documentations such as mileage logbook, timesheet, and other records
Qualifications:
Possession of 1 year clear driving record (Driver Abstract from Ministry of Transportation)
3 year driving experience preferable with passenger van or bus
Clean driving record provided by Service Ontario
Knowledge of transfer skills, and physical ability to assist clients with transfers and transporting wheelchair patients
Experience working with seniors
Demonstrated passion and caring attitude
Ability to prioritize and react calmly to crisis situations
Valid CPR/First Aid & CPR certification
Flexible working hours with availability to work mornings, evenings, and weekends
Fluent in English, and a second language commonly used by our clients such as Cantonese and Mandarin is an asset
Current vulnerable sector check (completed within one year)
