Medical Van Driver - Part Time (0.8) Trinity Lodge & Lake Bonavista Village



30 hours per week

Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):



Transportation: Safely drive residents to and from scheduled outings and appointments, ensuring that all mobility devices and personal belongings are handled appropriately. Passenger Assistance: Assist residents on and off the van or bus, ensuring their safety and comfort during transport. Provide support during shopping trips and outings, including loading/unloading purchases and helping with event participation. Bus Maintenance: Keep the bus clean and well-maintained, ensuring windows are closed, garbage is removed, and it's ready for the next trip. Other Duties: Assist with various tasks during outings, including event setup/take down, high-touch cleaning, and supporting other staff as needed.
Qualifications

Education: Minimum of Grade 12 education required. Skills: Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills. Must be flexible and able to work outside of regular hours when necessary. Driving Requirements: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; prior experience driving vans or smaller passenger buses; preference to those with a Class 4 license. 5 years of driving experience Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and moving items and equipment. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Additional: Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a positive attitude and dedicated to the values of United Active Living. Must relate to residents, staff, families, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner at all times.

Working Conditions



Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and deadlines. Able to participate in all required training and follow health and safety protocols, including Workplace Safety and Insurance Act and Workplace Hazardous Material Information System. Must demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety practices, including proper lifting, universal precautions, and participation in ongoing safety programs.
