Driver
to join our team.
Position Overview
The Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting food donations, supplies, and goods between the food bank warehouse, partner agencies, and donors. This role plays an essential part in ensuring that food reaches those who need it most in our community.
Key Responsibilities
Transportation:
Operate company vehicles (trucks, vans, etc.) to pick up food donations from grocery stores, businesses, and partners, and deliver them to the food bank and partner agencies.
Loading & Unloading:
Safely load and unload vehicles, including lifting heavy boxes and materials.
Route Management:
Follow assigned routes and schedules, with occasional input into mapping and route planning.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and donation information.
Vehicle Maintenance:
Conduct basic vehicle checks, report issues, and assist with upkeep as needed.
Customer Service:
Represent the Food Bank in a professional and courteous manner when interacting with donors, partners, and the public.
Safety:
Adhere to all safety regulations, including transportation and food-handling standards.
Communication:
Provide clear updates to food bank staff regarding delivery schedules, routes, and any issues.
Qualifications
Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver's license and a clean driving record.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Professional and courteous communication with donors and partners.
Knowledge of Moose Jaw and surrounding area is an asset.
Previous driving or delivery experience is an asset.
