Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the driver will focus on the safe and timely transportation of company rental equipment such as scissor lifts, boom lifts, track loaders, excavators, etc. The driver will also assist with transporting empty shipping containers and/or materials from our local suppliers as well as carry out customer deliveries as needed.
Health and Safety is every employee's responsibility. All employees are required to follow Custom Cubes' safety standards and carry out all tasks with a safety-focused attitude and behaviours.
Transportation of shipping containers (modified & bare), and various other freight/cargo as assigned.
Maintenance, and daily pre & post inspections of rental equipment.
Follow delivery schedules as assigned by management.
Travel as required (Vancouver Island, Sunshine Coast, Southern & Central Interior, Long Haul).
Ensure adequate securement of loads, tools, and other supplies carried inside or on Customs Cubes equipment.
Maintaining cleanliness of vehicles, trailers, and tools/equipment.
Ensure pre & post-trip inspections on Custom Cube vehicles and trailers are conducted with due care, reporting any defects or repairs to management immediately.
Ensure safe operation of all vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
Ensure HOS and timesheets are always kept up-to-date and in good order.
Ensure receipts and purchases are conducted according to company policy.
Ensure excellent customer service when interacting with customers, modelling professional and courteous behaviour.
Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A valid class 5 Driver's License with a valid 20 endorsement
A clean driving record for the past 5 years
3-5 years of experience driving commercial vehicles
Experience operating aerial lifts (boom & scissor Lifts), skid steers, bobcats, and mini excavators. (Training can be provided for the right candidate)
Automotive towing experience is considered an asset.
Ability to use GPS navigation via apps or vehicle navigation.
Experience with ELD and HOS management applications is considered an asset, but not required (training will be provided).
Mountain driving experience considered an asset (Winter Conditions, Chaining)
Trailer Experience required with experience Backing Into tight locations
Experience with tilt deck trailers is considered an asset.
Experience delivering shipping containers is considered an asset.
Knowledge and experience with various power tools is considered an asset.
Team-oriented and positive attitude.
Learning and growth mindset; willing to undergo training if necessary.
Demonstrated effective verbal communication skills.
Reliable and punctual.
Strong attention to detail.
