Job Summary: Provide engineering technical support for Sales, Operations and Product Line Engineering groups specific to ReedHycalog bit products. NOV ReedHycalog is looking for new and recent grads for an exciting engineering opportunity within our Canadian team. We are currently hiring a candidate to participate in our Diamond development program, based out of the Downtown Calgary office. The Diamond Program has been designed to introduce and educate engineers on every step of the process in making and supporting our industry leading drill bit products. During the 15 month program the selected candidate will travel and work from various locations in Canada and the US, learning how we design, build, run and test drill bits used across a variety of applications from conventional Oil and Gas to cutting edge Geothermal. Upon completion of the program the candidate will take up a post with our Canadian engineering team as a Drilling Solutions Engineer. This core group of application engineers works with our sales, operations and engineering teams to develop and test class leading solutions for our clientele. Lets power your Potential. Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical and applications support for the drill bit product line and direct to external customers
  • Capture and analyze drilling performance data from historical and ongoing jobs
  • Make recommendations to enhance existing products to drive continuous performance improvement.
  • Develop and test new products as part of the ever expanding ReedHycalog portfolio
  • Communication field and facility trends with various engineering groups to help drive product improvement
  • Support field testing of new products, technologies and design improvements
  • Assist in the development and implementation of procedures and best practices
  • Provide occasional after hours support for Canadian operations
Qualification and Skill Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • Little or no experience in the industry is required
  • Significant travel during first 2 years
  • Must be eligible for travel to the US
  • Must be able to travel up to 20%
  • Registration as a member in training or a member of APEGA
Technical Competencies:
  • Visualization software
  • Microsoft Office suite
  • Interpret CAD drawings and BOMs
