Role Overview/Purpose:





The Technician, Mine Operations - Driller will safely operate drills and related equipment while ensuring operational needs are being met in a safe and environmentally sound manner.


Primary Responsibilities:




Operate a variety of drills and related equipment in a safe, efficient and environmentally responsible manner. Ensure all machinery is safe, appropriately document and report any faults or potential hazards. Strict adherence to safety in all tasks and interactions, including pre-start up, start-up and shut-down checks. Follow standard operating procedures and monitor all equipment and gauges for irregularities. Take appropriate corrective action to prevent any negative impact on the environment or quality and report non-compliance.

What You Bring to the Table:




Previous experience in a mine or other heavy industry environment. High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Familiarity with drills and previous experience working near earth moving equipment. Experience with Sandvik drills preferred, DI650i & DR410i. A team player with solid communication skills. Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle. First aid and other relevant certifications would be an asset. Good work ethic and a strong attitude towards safety are essential requirements.

Working Conditions:




The role is located at the Magino Mine, which is approximately 88 kilometres northeast of Wawa, Ontario, Canada. The ideal candidate for the role will work a rotation of 7 days on / 7 days off or 14 days on / 14 days off (12 hour days). Magino promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
