Marathon provides a high-level of service to our clients due to our in-house engineering department. Marathon's in-house engineering department provides value engineering and innovative solutions from conceptual design to project completion, including design build projects.
Marathon is headquartered in Greely (Ottawa), Ontario with offices across Canada (Sudbury, Toronto, Edmonton, Montreal, and Quebec City).
Operate small diameter drilling rigs and equipment for various deep foundations applications in Ontario and/or Quebec;
Install tiebacks, soil nails, rock anchors, and micro piles to project specifications;
Read and understand construction drawings, plans, and ground profiles;
Monitor and adjust drilling operations in response to varying ground conditions;
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on drill rigs and tools;
Ensure safety protocols are strictly followed on all job sites;
Maintain accurate drilling logs and daily field reports;
Essential Skills
5-10 years of hands-on experience in deep foundations application and small diameter drilling operation including down the hole hammer;
Strong working knowledge of pile drilling, tiebacks, rock anchors, and micro piles;
Willingness and ability to travel periodically to job sites across Eastern Canada;
Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions;
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a field crew;
Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude;
Valid Class G license required.
