The Drains & Maintenance Support Technician is responsible for the collecting, processing, treating and discharging of hazardous waste liquids generated within drilling areas of the platform. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a computer database of Parker Wellbore\'s equipment, spares, tools and consumables.

Essential functions

  • Responsible for the collecting, processing, treating and discharging of hazardous waste liquids generated within drilling areas of the platform.
  • Responsible for processing drilling waste liquids through a fixed hazardous drilling waste liquid treatment skid to generate outputs within prescribed oil in water limits for overboard discharge, or to be disposed of through subsequent injection via the cuttings re-injection system.
  • Responsible for operating and maintaining Cloud 360, Portable rig vacuum, Particle Analyzer and Retort Sampler.
  • Responsible for sampling of drains wastewater for oil in water analysis by the Platform Laboratory Technician.
  • Maintain an organized work site inventory and arrange timely re-supply of equipment, tools and materials required to perform services.
  • Assist the Fluid Management Specialist with providing load out list and operational procedures.
  • Assist Fluid Management Specialist with completing offshore equipment failure reports.
  • Complete daily equipment checklists.
  • Responsible for offshore material movement and storage as per Parker Wellbore\'s offshore material movement plan.
  • SAP Data Input and co-ordination, creating, updating and completing notifications/work orders
  • Prepare Material Receipts and Material Transfers and participate in inspections, inventories, and audits.
  • Assist with the creation of job requests and work orders as required and enter into maintenance tracking system
  • Ensure an adequate amount of spare parts are on hand at all times.
  • Time confirmations and work order history for Drilling and Maintenance Crews
  • Complete material searches for various persons when required.
  • Provide assistance to the Drill Crew, as needed, in various capacities including housekeeping within the Drilling operations.
  • Work collaboratively with other platform disciplines when required.
Qualifications

Necessary qualifications, skills and abilities

  • Able to identify and understand functionality of various rig equipment.
  • Must have good verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate in English with staff, management, customers and vendors.
  • Must possess sound reasoning skills, common sense and the ability to follow directions.
  • Must possess basic mathematical skills (equivalent to a high school education).
  • Experience maintaining Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) preferred.
  • Education, experience, and certifications:
  • High School diploma is required
  • Must be able to obtain appropriate Offshore certifications
  • Basic Survival Training (BST)
  • Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S)
  • Installation Safety Induction
  • Regulatory Awareness
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
  • Should have at least 5 years of work experience.

Physical demands and work environment
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data.

  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and/or ramps while carrying tools requiring a reasonable degree of physical stamina and agility and involving moderate to severe physical exertion
  • Operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
