We are looking for a lead draftsman that possess a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and project management capabilities. You are proficient in CAD software, have strong technical drawing skills, and be able to interpret and create complex technical drawings. Additionally, strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are essential for leading a team and ensuring project success.

Technical Skills:

CAD Software Proficiency:

Expertise in industry-standard CAD software like AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks is crucial.

Technical Drawing and Drafting Standards:

A deep understanding of technical drawing principles.

Understanding Engineering Principles:

A grasp of engineering fundamentals allows the lead draftsman to translate concepts into accurate and buildable designs.

Attention to Detail:

Accuracy and precision are paramount in drafting, and a lead draftsman must be meticulous in their work and the work of their team.

Ability to Review and Understand Specifications:

The lead draftsman must be able to interpret and apply building specifications, codes, and regulations.

Leadership and Communication Skills:

Collaboration:

The lead draftsman must be able to effectively collaborate with engineers, architects, other drafters, and project managers.

Communication:

Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed to convey technical information, provide feedback, and lead team meetings.

Leadership:

The ability to motivate, guide, and mentor a team of drafters is crucial for successful project delivery.

Problem-Solving:

The lead draftsman should be able to identify and resolve design issues, and troubleshoot technical problems.

Project Management Skills:

Time Management:

The ability to manage time effectively and meet project deadlines is essential.

Organization:

Organized and efficient work practices are necessary for managing multiple projects and tasks.

Planning and Scheduling:

The lead draftsman may be involved in planning and scheduling drafting tasks, ensuring efficient workflow.

This position offers a salary of $70,000 - $100,000 depending on experience. Comes with 3 weeks of paid vacation (2 weeks plus 1 week Christmas shut down) , full benefits.
