Job Description

Hillside Construction, located in Steinbach, is a General Contractor working in the residential and commercial construction industry. Established in 1985, the company has grown in the subsequent decades to where it is today, operating numerous large and small sites simultaneously throughout southern Manitoba, Winnipeg, and western Ontario.

Currently Hillside is looking to expand it's team by adding another Drafting/Design Tech. The successful candidate will be working closely with many internal departments (drafting, design and advertising, project management, etc). This will be a hybrid position consisting of Drafting responsibilities, coupled with 3D rendering, and some administrative duties. Hillside is looking for an applicant who will report to an existing Drafting/Design team.

The job itself could be part-time (4hrs a day, 5 days a week) or full-time, with Hillside reserving the right to adjust the hours based on mutual consent and the successful candidate's experience and skillsets.

Responsibilities

Drafting preliminary floorplans & elevations Drafting comprehensive working set drawings, both in single family and eventually small commercial and multi-family projects. Responsible to fully execute drafting revisions to existing drawings. Render fully realistic 3D renderings of exteriors and interiors, working with conceptual concepts and taking design direction from clients and senior management. Work alongside other team members and developers within the organization.
Additional Responsibilities could include:

Graphic design for flyers and suite layouts for websites New conceptual building design
Qualifications

Industrial Design, Engineering, and/or drafting specific education. Existing knowledge in the drafting practice. AutoCAD, Softplan, and/or Revit experience. Prior experience in the construction industry is a valuable asset Proficient in Office 365, Word & Excel Good command of the English language, both verbally and written Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines Ability to work independently and to exercise sound judgment Exceptional time management skills, working under pressure to meet deadlines
