We are currently recruiting a Drafting technologist to join our dedicated outfitting team at our Vancouver, BC location.
Responsibilities
Create and develop engineering designs and technical drawings using initial concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other reference materials.
Build Building Information Models with specialized software to produce digital representations of structural and functional elements of buildings and other engineering projects.
Use computer-assisted design (CAD) tools and drafting workstations.
Use Navisworks tools
Produce design sketches and layout concepts.
Prepare full documentation packages and complete sets of drawings.
Review and validate drawings to ensure they meet specifications and design requirements.
Write technical documentation and reports.
Produce construction specifications, cost estimates, and material quantities.
Oversee and train junior technologists, technicians, and drafting staff.

Qualifications
Knowledge relating to the design of Insulation Systems, Joiner Bulkhead Systems, Sheathing, Ceiling Systems, Deck Covering Systems, Doors, Furniture, Galley Equipment, Gratings and Battens, and to a lesser extent, related plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and piping
Ability to apply safety standards and adhere to industry regulations, including T9640-AC-DSP-010_HAB Habitability Design Criteria and Practices Manual, OPNAV INST 9640.1C Shipboard Habitability Program, various MIL-STD's and MIL-PRF's, IMO/ FTP Code, SOLAS, and MIL-S-901 Shock Classification
Associate degree or technical school in an engineering-related field. Commiserate experience may be considered
Two years' experience in Shipbuilding is required
Extensive knowledge of the designated engineering field
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Ability to apply safety standards and adhere to industry regulations

Pay: $90,000.00-$97,000.00 per year
