The Drafting Tech will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team using computer-assisted design programs to create and layout components made of wood, metal, or plastic that are used in our custom van builds. Must have strong technical ability and be able to communicate effectively while projecting a friendly, kind, and positive attitude. Must be able to follow directions, work as a team, and individually and be able to take initiative on progressive steps on each project.

Duties



Follow specifications and calculations to create both rough sketches and detailed plans using computer drafting software Keep database of base components up to date and functional Re-image older designs for use with new software, machines or floorplans Physically gather measurements of vehicles and products Calculate material and equipment requirements and set up production methods Invent, design, and prepare 3D drawings of plastic, wood, metal or textile components for production Communicate with engineers, builders and clients, and incorporate information into drawings Identify and communicate potential design problems to the rest of the team Problem solve and find workable solutions to problems Work with Administration to ensure required inventory is/will be available when needed Work with build team and management to prioritize projects and keep timelines on track Ensure final designs are compliant with building regulations Create additional technical documents as required Review website for product information accuracy Must maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Experience



Strong background in drafting, schematics development, and technical visualization. Experience in creating 2D animations or visual presentations. Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately. Familiarity with construction processes and industry standards is preferred. Prior work involving designing cabinetry, civil engineering or architectural projects is advantageous.

Education



Drafting certificate or diploma or equivalent demonstrable work experience

Wage is dependent on experience $24 - 34/hr
Employer paid extended health/dental/Life/AD&D package and RSP matching to 3% after 90 day probation period.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00-$34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
