Primarily responsible for drafting and designing of gearing and mechanical power transmission equipment. Working with stakeholders to ensure standards are met and continual improvement of processes.
This role will work together with management, engineering, and production teams to ensure the products and quality management system is maintained to meet our customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical drawing creation and review, primarily in Solidworks and Autocad
Drafting and designing (after gaining experience) via CAD and or hand sketches;
Creating manuals, guides, and product brochures;
Creating labels, and instructions for the Corporation's products;
Disassembling and assembling new or old equipment;
Measuring, inspection, and analysis of existing equipment and parts;
Technical representation of the Corporation over telephone, email, and in person;
Assisting staff on shop floor in assembly when required;
Implementing Quality Systems as required by the Corporation;
Measurement using CMM equipment
If applicable, assist Lead Internal Auditor to perform the internal audits;
Traveling and representing the Corporation in tradeshows or to client locations/offices, from time to time;

Traveling to job site for educational as well as on site emergency or repair services, from time to time
Performing general engineering services and calculations as requested by the Corporation (after gaining needed product experience);
Do verification calculations per AltaRig/NAMCO quality requirements and regulatory, statutory requirements
Follow all safety and quality procedures as specified in the staff manual and quality manual
Follow all procedures and documentation per document control matrix
Fill out travellers if required
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Work as a Cross Functional team member to drive continuous improvement activities
Support and help drive the teams to meet their deadlines
Miscellaneous duties as per instruction of the President, Vice President, GM, or Production Manager
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Technical training (engineering or technical school) or equivalent work experience
Solidworks experience critical for this role
Experience working with ISO and/or API Quality Management System.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Experience using measuring tools in machining environment
Experience in working in CNC machining and manufacturing environment an asset.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel
Interpret drawings and identify parts from drawings

Analytical Thinker with strong problem-solving background
Can work in a fast paced, production paced environment
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $28.00-$38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
