All restaurant operations are managed and administered by a highly skilled team of individuals based out of their Headquarters in Woodstock.

Role Description:
As a member of the Support Centre Team, the Drafting Technician will focus on designing and drafting complete drawing packages for a variety of projects; including new builds, renovations, and tenant fit-ups for all Brands operated by FMI. You will create complete construction document packages for use by the Design and Construction Team. Additionally, you will work closely and collaboratively with many key stakeholders, including internal Coordinators, Architects, Engineers and Contractors, providing support where necessary to ensure successful delivery of various projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Design and draft complete CAD drawing packages for use on renovation, tenant fit-up, and new construction projects;
• Submit design and construction documentation documents to various parties for approval, including internal management, franchisors, landlords, and municipalities/local authorities;
• Liaise and develop relations with key internal and external clients and stakeholders, such as owners, team-members, field operations team, contractors, and suppliers;
• Participate in project kick-off meetings, compiling information from key-stakeholders, identifying any potential limitations to the project, and gathering site dimensions;
• Remain current on drafting best practices, and CAD technology;
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
As the ideal candidate, you have a strong understanding of AutoCAD and its full-functionality, coupled with experience drafting full drawing packages on a variety of construction projects. You are able to manage competing priorities, and a high-level of productivity without sacrificing quality or attention to detail. Most importantly, you are a team player who enjoys working within and contributing to a strong team environment.

Your qualifications include:

• 2 years of post-secondary education, preferably in the field of architecture or civil/mechanical engineering technology;
• 1-3 years of demonstrated experience in AutoCAD design and drafting methods;
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and other construction documents;
• Ability to manage competing deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and organization;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications;
• Advanced understanding of construction trades and knowledge of mechanical building systems and utilities would be considered an asset;
• Bilingualism (EN/FR) would be considered an asset.
