Midwest Surveys is an employee-owned professional land surveying firm providing geomatics deliverables designed for oil & gas, utility, construction, and municipal applications through our ten offices in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia.

Position Description:

In this role, you will be responsible for creating plans using CAD and coordinate geometry software on Windows-based platforms. Your duties will include and are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with internal staff and external clients using various communication tools to deliver an optimal product.
  • Developing 3D models and 2D drawings for use in survey plans, pipeline engineering plans, and P&IDs.
  • Understanding survey plan content, evaluating evidence descriptions, and adhering to company drafting standards and client requirements.
Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have:
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Map and/or Civil 3D, and CADWorx.
  • Minimum of 2-year experience or equivalent relevant experience.
The preferred candidate should possess:
  • Strong drafting and modeling skills in both 2D and 3D environments, specifically related to surveying and engineering design.
  • Knowledge of the township survey system
  • Knowledge of design principles related to facility equipment and/or piping systems.
  • Familiarity with various mechanical equipment, design tools, piping system design, and discipline workflows, as well as experience with isometric production and monitoring isometric drawings.
  • Demonstrates critical and creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Demonstrated accuracy, neatness, and professionalism in the development of drafting products.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Highly collaborative individual.
