Job Summary

Business Optimization Department is responsible for Downstream assets\' operation planning, profit and loss, development and coordination of the capital program in line with the Downstream strategy, and value creation through assets and streams optimization and integration.

Responsibilities:

  • Addressing and resolving constraints within the system by conducting Solomon benchmarking analysis and gathering input from the Sales & Operation Planning Division.
  • Reviewing operations of downstream facilities, identifying bottlenecks, and recommending measures to mitigate them.
  • Identifying and presenting value-driven opportunities to improve profitability at both individual asset and regional levels.
  • Evaluating growth project proposals and joint venture offtake arrangements.
  • Assisting in the development of technical evaluations and economic justifications for Capital Programs.
  • Preparing project justifications for presentation to Corporate Management.
  • Conducting system and economic evaluations of existing and potential refining and chemical facilities.
  • Evaluating major refinery and petrochemical process configurations and conducting studies to improve refinery and petrochemical complex integration.
  • Preparing and delivering presentations to Corporate Management on issues related to refining and chemical facilities.
  • Mentoring junior engineering talent to support their career progression.
Requirements:
  • This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
  • A Bachelor\'s degree in Chemical Engineering, an MBA, or a relevant advanced degree (strongly preferred).
  • A minimum of 15 years of professional experience, specifically in business optimization for major chemicals and refining projects, with a comprehensive understanding of associated operations and asset integration.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of financial analysis and valuation methodologies, as well as commercial principles and mechanisms related to transactions and various types of commercial agreements.
  • Expertise in international business practices and a strong understanding of cross-cultural professional dynamics.
