About the role

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary part-time Donor Services Representative to join our dynamic Donor Centre team.

The Donor Centre team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by collecting donor blood in a safe manner to enable safe products which save lives every day. In this role, you will be providing excellent customer service by greeting donors, confirming appointments, rebooking donors at events, and serving potential donors.

  • Your superb communication and people skills are vital to this role as you will play an integral part in building and promoting a positive donor experience and encouraging donations.
  • Your interpersonal skills will allow you to work in a diverse team environment, working together to ensure a successful donor centre event.
  • Calling on your organization skills and attention to detail, you will ensure the workstation is ready and working properly to support the donor centre. This includes getting the computer and printer ready, ensuring the appointment schedule is printed and updating the booking system online.

Desired education and skills
  • Completion of Grade 12 or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Ability to type 35 W.P.M.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to deal with others effectively
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Ability to organize work
  • Ability to operate related equipment, including computers and related software

What you can expect
  • This is a float position, start and stop times will vary. You must be flexible to accommodate assigned shifts which are based on operational needs; length of shifts varies according to the event which takes place at Canadian Blood Services fixed and mobile donor centers. Shifts include days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays. Two consecutive rest days as per schedule.
  • Travel will be required for mobile events and transportation will be provided by Canadian Blood Services.
