Part-Time Warehouse Helper
to assist in the daily operations of our donation warehouse. The successful candidate will be responsible for sorting, organizing, and storing donations, as well as assisting with the overall upkeep of the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
Answering Donation Phone Calls:
Respond promptly and courteously to inquiries regarding donation opportunities and needs.
Scheduling Pickups and Deliveries:
Coordinate donation pick-ups and deliveries, ensuring they are scheduled efficiently and on time.
Paperwork Management:
Maintain the necessary documentation required for the daily operation of the donation van, including logs, receipts, and donor forms.
Hanging Clothing:
Ensure that clothing donations are properly hung and arranged in the donation center or warehouse.
Communication:
Work closely with the warehouse team and other staff to ensure smooth operations and efficient handling of donations.
Sorting Donations:
Sort clothing, household items, and other donations, categorizing them for appropriate use or storage.
Physical Labor:
Assist with heavy lifting and moving of donations as needed.
Collaborate with Team:
Work alongside other staff members to ensure smooth daily operations.
Required Abilities and Skills:
Organizational Skills:
Ability to keep accurate records and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Communication Skills:
Strong verbal communication skills for interacting with donors and team members.
Time Management:
Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively, especially in coordinating pickups and deliveries.
Physical Ability:
Comfortable with physical tasks such as sorting, hanging, and organizing donations.
Attention to Detail:
Accuracy in managing records and handling donations, Careful handling and sorting of items to ensure quality control.
Basic Computer Knowledge:
Ability to operate basic computer systems for tracking donations or inventory.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand, lift, and move items for extended periods, with occasional heavy lifting.
Teamwork:
Ability to work well in a team setting and assist with other warehouse functions as needed.
Additional Requirements:
Familiarity with St. John's and Surrounding Areas (Asset):
Knowledge of the local area is a plus for scheduling deliveries and pickups but not required.
