We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Manager to oversee daily operations within our restaurant or hospitality establishment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a solid background in food service and restaurant management. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring food safety standards, participating in all restaurant operations, and maintaining high levels of guest satisfaction to promote a smooth and efficient operation.
This position is for our under-construction Amherst, NS location. Priority will go to candidates who can begin in advance of the store opening by commuting to our Moncton location for training (gas will be paid for).
Duties
Supervise daily restaurant operations, including food preparation, cooking, and serving activities
Manage and coordinate team members, including interviewing, training, and scheduling staff
Oversee food handling procedures to ensure compliance with food safety standards
Operate POS systems for order processing and cash handling
Ensure high-quality customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally
Monitor kitchen and dining area cleanliness, safety protocols, and overall sanitation
Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
Lead by example in hospitality, demonstrating professionalism and leadership in all interactions
Manage restaurant workflow during shifts to maximize efficiency and guest satisfaction
Take part in customer service, food preparation, oven tending, and general cleaning
Skills
Proven supervising experience in food service or restaurant management
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively
Excellent customer service skills with a focus on hospitality excellence
Proficiency in food preparation, cooking, and food handling procedures
Experience operating POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards in the food industry
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
Familiarity with restaurant operations including kitchen experience, serving, and barista experience is a plus
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Previous hotel or hospitality experience is advantageous
Compensation
17.50 with raises once you learn all aspects of the job and can work independently of supervision
