Looking for someone who doesn't just love dogs, but is willing to learn and understand dogs. Someone who has dog knowledge and/or knows of positive reinforcement and believes in R+ training. This job has lots of learning opportunities and room for future growth.
We do not just walk the dog and allow the dog to drag us down the street. You will be trained how to use positive reinforcement to get the dog to want to walk with you. This job requires you to have lots of patience and positivity.
*MUST HAVE OWN RELIABLE VEHICLE - Job requires you to drive to and from clients homes.
*MUST HAVE A VALID G2 DRIVERS LICENSE
*Hours vary between 8am-5pm.
*The training period is 1-3 months long, depending on skill level.
*Ideally looking for someone who wants to stay in this type of field.
Duties include:
- Train dogs to walk with a loose leash, using positive reinforcement techniques (training will be provided)
- Provide exercise and mental stimulation for dogs during walks
- Follow specific instructions regarding the pets' care
- Clean up after dogs during walks and dispose of waste properly
- Monitor dogs for any signs of distress or illness and report any concerns
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with clients
Skills required:
- Excellent customer service skills to interact with dog owners in a professional and friendly manner
- Knowledge of basic dog behavior and ability to handle different breeds and sizes
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to specific care requirements
- Physical stamina to walk dogs for extended periods of time
- Strong communication skills to report any issues or concerns
