As a Dog Daycare/Kennel Attendant, you will be essential in providing a safe and nurturing environment for dogs while ensuring exceptional customer service for pet owners. Your core skills in customer service and heavy lifting will be vital as you manage daily tasks such as feeding, exercising, and cleaning up after the dogs. You will report to the Daycare Manager and work collaboratively with the team to maintain a clean and welcoming facility. Your dedication to animal care and well-being will contribute significantly to the overall success of our daycare operations.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Monitoring daycare dogs to ensure a safe, fun play environment.
Managing a busy play environment of 10-20 dogs at a time.
Reporting dog behaviour, incidents and other important information to the dog's owner and kennel management.
Accurately preparing meals and feeding both dogs and cats.
Preparing, administering and reporting medications for both dogs and cats.
Cleaning and sterilizing cages and suites.
Complete daily sanitation tasks, including cleaning dishes, washing floors and emptying garbages.
Removing pet waste.
Providing one-to-one enrichment activities and/or exercise to dogs staying overnight with us.
Qualifications
Strong customer service skills to interact effectively with pet owners
Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physical tasks associated with animal care
Experience in animal handling or working in a kennel environment
Experience supervising large group play (10-20 off-leash dogs)
Knowledge of dog behaviour and body language
Knowledge of basic pet care and safety protocols
Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and pet owners
Class G or G2 Driver's Licence
