POSITION: Documentation Specialist REPORTS TO: Director, Regulatory ComplianceWe are looking for a Documentation Specialist to join our Compliance team! Our Documentation Specialist will work alongside the Director to manage customer portals, ensure timely execution of compliance impacted projects, assist in maintaining compliance systems for suppliers, provide information to the business on regulatory matters, manage issues related to labelling and advertising, and more.OPPORTUNITIESIn this role, you will have the opportunity to use your analytical mindset to improve the flow of information and management of information through systems! • You have a thorough understanding of the US and Canadian Food & Drug Acts and Regulations
• You understand GFSI standards (BRC, SQF or FSSC 22000)
• You have expert Microsoft Office and other computer application skills
• You are systems oriented and have a good understanding of database systems & customer portals

EXPERIENCE

• You have a Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry or other relevant education
• You have previous working experience as Compliance or QA Manager or related field
• You have more than five yearsxe2x80x99 experience in the food industry

• Review and maintain accurate and authorized updates on portals for all private label customers
• Work in a team environment to manage projects and onboard suppliers through available systems
• Manage customer and supplier documentation to ensure compliance and help resolve issues
• Remain current and drive regulatory updates on all company labelling standards and policies
• Participate in resolving regulatory issues raised by customers, consumers, and government agencies and initiate corrective actions
• Work with the Director to standardize compliance processes and document templates
• Support the development of product and internal labelling standards, policies, and guidelines
• Develop accurate label copy and review advertising ensuring both meet appropriate standards and policies
• Manage all regulatory affairs related documents to ensure accuracy and implement updates
• Work with the QA team to provide directions on claims for new products with customer consideration

• You are willing to work flexible shifts to cover for vacations, sick days or leave if required
• May on occasion work at various times including weekends, as the job requires
