Vancouver BC; Calgary, AB We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Document Specialist to join our non-prime Residential Mortgage division. In this position, you will take a customer forward approach when working closely with the Residential Underwriter and our national broker channel. You will utilize your detailed knowledge of the non-prime residential mortgage industry, conditions management, regulatory compliance to review conditions on \xe2\x80\x9cnon-prime\xe2\x80\x9d and \xe2\x80\x9cnon-conforming\xe2\x80\x9d mortgage applications based on established guidelines while employing strong solution-focused communication skills to deliver your message. You will work with Mortgage Underwriters to process and manage the mortgage application from the time of commitment to when all conditions have been met. About the role:

  • Review mortgage documentation
  • Review information presented and address any discrepancies or inconsistencies
  • Confirming appropriate due diligence has been completed on all documents
  • Verify data to ensure it meets with company guidelines
  • Prioritize deals in the workflow queue
  • Respond to questions, concerns email and phone calls within a 2-hour period from all clients with the intent to build and maintain relationships
  • Correspond with mortgage brokers to attain outstanding documentation needed to complete requirements as stipulated on the mortgage commitment.
  • Manage the files from the time of commitment to all conditions met
  • Provide liaison and support for Underwriters and Funders
  • Knowledge of the documentation required for all mortgage products
This role is for you if you have:
  • Experience with compliance review is preferred
  • Post-secondary education and/or equivalent work experience
  • Working knowledge of residential mortgage legal documentation
  • 1 or more years of experience in the mortgage industry (residential mortgage experience is strongly preferred)
  • Ability to understand financial statements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft computer applications
  • Extensive knowledge of the review process for all documentation is preferred
