Document Controller
to join our team based at Duke Point Industrial Park in Nanaimo, BC. The position will be based in the North Vancouver Area, or Nanaimo, BC.

Responsibilities:
As an integral member of the team, you will have an opportunity to perform inputting various project information and supporting day-to-day functions for the Document Control team. You will have the opportunity to assist in the overall organization and maintenance of all company documents.
Responsible for receiving and transmitting documents in and out of the company
Receives, logs, tracks, files, and monitors paper and electronic engineering drawings, vendor supplied documentation, and other technical correspondence
Maintaining electronic document logs
Traceability of material and fabrication products
Performs File Transfer Protocol (FTP) or similar site uploads and downloads
Interacts with various disciplines to handle the processing and the issuance of client documentation and vendor information
Distribute project-related copies to internal teams and external stakeholders
Manage the flow of documentation within the organization
Maintain confidentiality around sensitive information and terms of agreement
Issuing fabrication drawings and related files to the shop
Communicate with clients and vendors for the purposes of document exchange
Ensures that all documentation is consistent and adheres to internal standards
Archives all Project Documentation at Project Close-out
Provide administrative support for the team, including document control tasks for the estimating team when required.
Printing, scanning, and copying documents and drawings
Requirements:
5+ years of experience as a Document Controller or similar role in the construction industry
Familiarity with project management
Strong communication, interpersonal, and technical writing skills
Ability to think ahead proactively, with a high degree of attention to detail
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer literacy and use of MS Office programs
Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays to meet client project commitments
