Umicore is preparing to build a battery materials production plant in Loyalist Township, Ontario - the first of its kind in North America. The cutting-edge facility will be a critical part of Canada\xe2\x80\x99s electric vehicle (EV) supply chain. Throughout the design, construction, and operation of the plant, Umicore will be seeking a variety of professionals who share our passion for innovation and sustainability. What you will be doing

For this new site, we are looking for a Document Controller, reporting to the Project Liaison.
In this role you will be responsible for document management during various construction phases, commissioning, maintenance, and operations of the plant. You will be providing general records management and document control services to ensure Umicore\xe2\x80\x99s information assets are managed in accordance with policies, procedures, and processes.
Responsibilities

  • Producing and modifying procedures to facilitate the transfer of various documents in to and out of the company\xe2\x80\x99s document management system.
  • Conducting quality verification on formal documents to ensure conformity with Information Management standard. Modify and update documents and drawings when necessary and as per technical specifications and contract deliverables.
  • Maintain, gather and electronically log and distribute various engineering documents. Create and maintain established files of drawings and correspondence.
  • Quality checks on documents being received and distribution for engineering modifications. Review the quality of documents and drawings including metadata, template, eligibility, etc.
  • Build and maintain document templates, contact lists, distribution lists, presentation templates and tracking logs.
  • Work closely with the contractor to track and update catalogues of information requiring approval and track status updates.

Who we are looking for
  • Diploma or degree in business administration, records/information management or a related discipline.
  • Experience with data entry, compiling of files and distribution of project documentation is an asset.
  • 2-3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a document control role, preferably in a construction or engineering setting.
  • Experience working in various document management systems such as SharePoint, Aconex and BIM 360.
  • Strong proficiency in various Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work well in a rapidly changing environment.
