Moutcha Bay Resort is a remote destination dedicated to sustainable adventure tourism, located 2 hours west of Campbell River on Vancouver Island by road. We host guests from around the world and love to share our passion for saltwater sportfishing and other outdoor adventures.
Who you are:
  • You have a desire to live and work in a beautiful remote area
  • You enjoy working outdoors and in all weather conditions
  • You have your Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC)
  • You\'re familiar with the recreational fishing industry (familiarity with DFO fishing regulations in Area 25/125 is an asset)
  • You can work independently and with little supervision
  • You have the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and can work while walking or standing for prolonged periods
  • You\'re friendly and outgoing with excellent communication and customer service skills

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll be doing:
  • You\'ll be giving rental boat orientations to guests
  • You\'ll be cleaning rental boats and checking their safety equipment
  • You\'ll be moving rental boats between fuel dock and parking slips
  • You\'ll be assisting guests with fueling their boats, including billing to rooms
  • You\'ll be catching and securing guest boats when they arrive
  • You\'ll be cleaning the dock shack, fish cleaning stations, and marina in general, including public dock bathroom
  • You\'ll be collecting garbage and recycling in the marina
  • You\'ll be processing retail and food sales in the dock shack using a POS system
  • You\'ll be completing daily cash-outs and managing the float
  • You\'ll be stocking shelves in the dock shack and tying fishing gear
  • You\'ll be assisting guests with rental kayaks, including providing orientations and safety information
  • You\'ll be tying fishing gear and maintaining tackle, rods, reels, and downriggers
  • You\'ll be acting as the "front desk" service for guests arriving by water
  • You\'ll be greeting guests, giving directions, assisting them, taking "catch" photos, and contributing to a stellar guest experience

Working with us: We are seeking to fill 4 dockhand positions in 2023. These positions have an anticipated start date between April 18 and July 1. Their anticipated end date is between August 25 and September 5. Contract length is subject to change based on the demands of the season. Meals and staff accommodation are included in the employment package!
